Acknowledgement

The assistance of Tourism Tasmania is acknowledged in the preparation of this Manual,
both for funding under their Local Tourism Grants 2005 and for provision of the
comprehensive Festival Diagnostic Questionnaire to guide the content. We have used the Questionnaire as a checklist, but opted for readability and example rather than following its structure precisely.

The Questionnaire is complementary to this Manual and is recommended for organisations contemplating a Plein Air event. A short version is given (File 2); for the latest edition please contact Tourism Tasmania and ask for Your Festival Diagnostic Questionnaire.

In our view, there are many ways of presenting an event such as this - much depends on the energy and knowledge base of the main committee and their supporting volunteers.
